Google & China

Come to find out google isn't a preferred program here in China so forwarded this to my wife for posting.

After a 30 hour long day we finally got to Tsingtao.  We had a 5 plus hour delay in Shanghai due to "air quality"   which we found out the military declared limitations on air travel and has caused delays and cancellations across the country.

When we finally got to Tsingtao/Quingduo it was 1:30 in the morning and absolutely no one in the airport spoke English.  A immigration officer grabbed me and took us on a trip through customs and bag check again (3rd time) then off to find our greeters  We had someone run up to us and pointed at our uniform insignia so we thought it was the person sent to meet us.. .as we walked out to his vehicle we noticed it was a cab and stopped right there and after some negotiations finally decided to head back in the terminal and found our real escorts.

The Canadien's were already here and I'll be rooming with their escort for the trip with Gibbs with their male cadet and Arvey we don't know who he gets until they get here.

After 4 hrs of sleep we were up for breakfast and they offered to take us to a local "experimental" school to watch a model airplane display.  Since today is catch up day it was optional but we all agreed to go.  We met in the lobby with 15 Chinese aviation cadets from a local high school program and off we went.  Come to find out we were the guests of honor and sat the head table during the display.  It was a middle school with 2800 students and approx. 500 teachers and we were sitting in front of them all.

Post more and upload photo's later
